Gardai at Midleton, Cork are investigating the circumstances of a fatal fire at a house approximately 2 miles from Midleton.
The fire was discovered at approximately at 5.15 a.m. this morning, the 25th January 2011. Two bodies - that of a brother and sister (aged 88 and 85yrs) were recovered from the fire. They were pronounced dead at the scene and at approx. 8am their bodies were removed to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place later today.
The scene of the fire has been sealed off for a technical examination.
