Firearm seizure and arrests in Dublin 5 on the 1/2/11

As part of the ongoing operation into dissident republican activity and organised crime, Gardai attached to the Special Detective Unit (SDU) Harcourt Square, searched a house on Harmonstown Road, Dublin 5, this evening, the 1st February 2011.

During the course of the search Gardai found three handguns.  Three people were arrested two males and one female (all in their 20’s) they are being detained in Blackrock Garda Station under the provisions of Section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended.

The investigation is ongoing.
