Gardai at Kanturk are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N72 Mallow to Killarney Road at Ballymaquirk on the 6/2/11 at approximately 6am.
A 19 year old male who was the sole occupant of the car was fatally injured when the car he was driving left the road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
This section of the N72 is currently closed and local diversions are in place.
Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses who may have travelled this stretch of the Mallow to Killarney Road near Ballymaquirk between approximately 5.00am and 6am and who may be able to assist with this investigation to contact Kanturn Garda Station on 029 20680, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
