As part of an intelligence led operation, under Operation Nitrogen, co-ordinated by the Garda National Drugs Unit and involving Baltinglass Gardai, the Tallaght Drugs Unit and the Kevin Street Drugs Unit, a cannabis grow house was discovered in the Wicklow area at midday yesterday, the 10th February 2011.
Cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €144,000 (pending analysis) were seized.
Two men, aged 23 and 30 were arrested.
In the course of follow up searches two more men aged 25 and 36 were arrested at two locations in Wicklow and West Dublin and herbal cannabis with an estimated street value of €312,000 (also pending analysis) was seized.
All four are being detained at Garda Stations in Baltinglass, Carlow and Kevin Street pursuant to Section 2 of the Criminal Justice ( Drug Trafficking ) Act 1996.
