Drug seizure and arrests in Castlecomer, Kilkenny on the 7/2/11

Two men in their late 40's have been arrested near Castlecomer in County Kilkenny at approximately 7.30pm this evening, the 7th February 2011.

They were arrested after Gardai from the Carlow/Kilkenny Division stopped and searched a truck and a car near Castlecomer and seized what is believed to be cannabis resin with an estimated street value of €650,000 (subject to analysis).

The 2 men are being detained under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act 1996 at Carlow Garda Station.
