Investigation into deaths at Gureeen, Sligo on the 18/12/11

Gardaí at Ballymote Garda Station are investigating the deaths of three people at a house at Morgara, Gurteen, Co. Sligo on the 18th December 2011.

Gardai were called to the house at 9.40 p.m. following the discovery of the bodies of a 52 year old man and his two children, a girl believed to be aged 12 and a boy believed to be aged 9.  All three were pronounced dead at the scene by a local doctor shortly before 11 p.m.

 
The scene is preserved pending a full technical examination by the Garda Technical Bureau.  The services of the State Pathologist have also been requested.
