Gardai in Mallow are investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the N20 near Newtwopothouse on the 12/12/11.
At approximately 4pm a truck was in collision with a male pedestrian in his late 20’s. The pedestrian was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been removed to Cork University Hospital. The driver of the truck was uninjured.
The road has been closed for an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses to this collision who may have travelled this stretch of road between 3.30pm and 4pm to contact Mallow Garda Station on 022-31450, The Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
