Gardaí in Ballina are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 9pm last night (9/12/11).
The collision occurred at Rathbaun, Cloghans, Ballina, Co Mayo when a car left the road and overturned. The 40 year old female driver and the 14 year old front seat passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. Three female rear seat passengers were injured (injuries not believed to be life threatening).
The road is currently closed to facilitate a Garda forensic examination.
