Arrest into the disappearance of Sandra Collins in Mayo in 2000 - Update

The man who was arrested in relation to this investigation has been released without charge.

A file will be prepared and forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Gardai investigating the disappearance of Sandra Collins in the Killala area of Mayo on 4/5th of December 2000 have arrested a male in his 40’s this morning (20th December 2011) in the Ballina area.

He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Ballina Garda Station.
