Gardai in Letterkenny, Co Donegal investigating the circumstances of a stabbing incident in which 4 people were injured including a Garda Sergeant on the 14th August 2011 have charged a 46yrs male, he will appear before a sitting of Mullingar District Ct at 10.30am today the 15th August 2011.
The Garda Sergeant injured in the incident is still receiving treatment at Letterkenny General hospital for his hand injuries.

Gardai in Letterkenny, Co Donegal are investigating the circumstances of a stabbing incident in which 4 people were injured including a Garda Sergeant on the 14th August 2011.
The incident occurred at approx 00.30 hrs on the 14th August 2011 on Lower Main St Letterkenny outside a licensed premises, 3 males were injured in the incident and a Garda Sergeant was also injured in the incident. The Gardai arrested a male 46yrs at scene, he was taken to Letterkenny Garda station where he is being detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.
All four injured persons were taken to Letterkenny General hospital, 3 have been released and the Garda Sergeant remains in hospital but his injuries are not life threatening(hand injuries).
