Gardai in Kilkenny are investigating the circumstances of a fatal road traffic collision on the Kilkenny to Freshford Road on the 24th August 2011.
The collision occurred at approx 6.45pm on the 24th August 2011 at Troyswood on the Kilkenny to Freshford Road (approx 2.5 miles outside Kilkenny).
Two cars were involved in the collision. There were three people in one car; a male (65yrs) was pronounced dead at the scene a female (61yrs) was pronounced dead at St Lukes hospital. The 3rd person in the car a female was taken to St Lukes hospital. There were two people in the 2nd car and they have been taken to St Lukes Hospital, Kilkenny.
The road is closed for a Forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.
