Gardai in Tullow are investigating a three vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the R726 (Rathvilly to Carlow Road) near Rathmore at approximately 3.15pm on the 11/8/11.
A male in his 20’s was fatally injured when the van he was driving collided with a tractor. A third vehicle, a Jeep, collided with the van. The driver of the van was taken to Naas General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The drivers of the tractor and the Jeep along with the passenger in the van were taken to Naas General Hospital with injuries described as minor.
The road is currently closed pending completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
