Gardai in Emyvale are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occured in the townland of Killacorn, Emyvale at approx. 5.45a.m. this morning, 7th August 2011.
A male driver in his late 20's was seriously injured when the car he was driving hit a ditch. He was removed to Cavan General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. There were four other males in the car at the time but all received minor injuries.
The road has been closed pending completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Gardai wish to appeal for witnesses that may have been in the area at the time of the collision or to anyone that may be able to assist with the investigation to contact Emyvale Garda Station on 047 - 87222 , The Garda Confidential Line 1 800 666 111 or any Garda Station.
