Gardai in Ballyfermot are investigating the death of a male in his early 30’s following a stabbing incident on Sarsfield Road, Dublin 10 on the 31/7/11 at approximately 9.15pm.
Gardai were called to Sarsfield Road following reports of an assault taking place. A male was taken to St. James Hospital with serious injuries and was pronounced dead a short time later.
Eight people - 4 males and 4 females, in their 20’s have been arrested and are currently detained at Garda Stations in West Dublin under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
The scene has been preserved and the Garda Technical Bureau and the Office of the State Pathologist has been notified.
Sarsfield Road is currently closed and diversions are in place.
