As part of on-going investigations into organised crime in the Dublin region Gardai from the Garda National Drugs Unit searched a number of cars this afternoon, the 16th August 2011 at Kill, Co Kildare and located 12 kilos of heroin with an approximate street value of €2.4m (subject to analysis).
The Gardai stopped and searched a number of cars just off the Naas Road at Kill, Co Kildare. Four males (3 in their 20's and the fourth is 51yrs) were arrested at the scene. They were taken to Clondalkin Garda station where they are being detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended.
