Gardaí at Baileboro are investigating a robbery at a Post Office at Mullagh, Co. Cavan at approximately 12.15pm yesterday (5/4/11).
Two masked men armed with a hammer and a knife entered the Post Office. They threatened staff and customers, smashed a counter glass panel and demanded cash.
They left the scene in a blue car in the direction of Virginia having taken an undisclosed amount of cash.
Following an operation by Gardaí, two men (42 yrs and 30 yrs) were arrested at short time later in Baileboro in connection with this incident and are currently detained at Baileboro Garda Station under Section 4 Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Investigations are continuing.
