Gardai in Bandon are investigating the circumstances of a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision on the Bandon to Clonakilty road on the 14th April 2011.
The collision occurred at approx. 3.35am on the Bandon to Clonakilty road (N71) approx 4 miles outside Bandon. The driver (17yrs) was the sole occupant of the car. He was seriously injured when his car collided with a tree and was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased was taken to <_st13a_place><_st13a_placename>Cork<_st13a_placetype>University<_st13a_placetype>Hospital where a post mortem will take place later today.<_o3a_p>
The road has been closed off to facilitate a forensic collision examination and diversions are in place.<_o3a_p>
