Discovery of a body of a woman in Mountrath, Laois on the 16/4/11

Gardai in Co. Laoise are investigating the discovery of the body of a female in her 30's at a flat in Mountrath, Co. Laoise.

Gardai were notified shortly after 8 p.m. on the 16th April 2011.

A man in his 30's has been arrested in relation to the incident and is detained at Portlaoise Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

The body of the woman remains at the scene pending the arrival, in the morning, of the Deputy State Pathologist Dr. Michael Curtis.  A crime scene examination will be carried out by the Garda Technical Bureau.
