Gardai in Laois investigating the discovery of the body of a female in her 30s at a flat in Mountrath on the 16th April 2011, have this afternoon charged a male in his 30's in connection with the incident.
He is due to appear at Birr District Court at 3.30pm today, the 18th April 2011.

Gardai in Laoise are investigating the discovery of the body of a female in her 30's at a flat in Mountrath, Co. Laoise.
Gardai were notified shortly after 8 p.m. on the 16th April 2011.
A man in his 30's has been arrested in relation to the incident and is detained at Portlaoise Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
The body of the woman remains at the scene pending the arrival, in the morning, of the Deputy State Pathologist Dr. Michael Curtis. A crime scene examination will be carried out by the Garda Technical Bureau.
