Theft of Boat in Drogheda, Co. Louth on the 14/9/10

Gardai in Drogheda investigating the theft of a Boat have charged a man in his 20's. The man is due before a sitting of Dundalk District Court this morning 14/9/10.

The alarm was raised at approximately 4am when local fishermen observed a boat drifting near to Drogheda Port.  The boat was towed back to shore and a man in his 20s was arrested by Gardai.

He was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Drogheda Garda Station and later charged in relation to the incident.  The boat is thought to be valued in the region of €15.000.
