All routes to and from Stradbally will experience heavy traffic on Friday 3rd and Monday 6th September respectively.
Motorists who are not attending the event are requested to avoid the Stradbally area and use alternative routes.
The primary routes to the Electric Picnic are :- M7 , M8, M9 ,N80 and R428.
M7 Southbound - All event traffic to exit motorway at Junction 17 ( 1st Portlaoise Exit)
M7 Northbound - All event traffic to exit motorway at Junction 17 ( 2nd Portlaoise exit)
M8 Northbound - All event traffic to exit motorway at Junction 3 ( exit for Rathdowney/Durrow/Abbeyleix)
N80 Southbound - At first roundabout on outskirts of Portlaoise take 2nd exit onto relief road for Carlow/Limerick.
N80 Northbound - Travel straight from Carlow to Stradbally.
M9 - All event traffic to take exit for Athy and then R428 from Athy to Stradbally.
R428 - Travel straight from Athy to Stradbally. ( please see note hereunder)
All routes will be clearly sign posted for Electric Picnic Traffic and patrons are requested to follow signs on the respective routes..
On the approach to Stradbally Town, directional signs will be in place for specific vehicle classification ie - Coaches/Buses, Camper Vans,Family Ticket holders, Staff/Crew , Taxi etc. Patrons wishing to use the Disabled Persons area should follow signs for Camper Vans.
All parking is free and car parks will be clearly identified.
NOTE - A charity cycle in aid of Temple Street Hospital is taking place on Friday 3rd. 1,000 cyclists will depart Dublin and cycle to Stradbally via Blessington, Naas, Kilcullen and Athy. Motorists on this route are advised to be extra cautious and alert for cyclists.
Drivers on all routes are asked to drive with care and consideration to and from the event and follow the instructions of Gardai and stewards.
