Gardai in Frenchpark, Roscommon are investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 6.20pm on the Boyle Road in Frenchpark.
The four occupants of a car (2 males and 2 females) were brought to Roscommon Hospital after the car in which they were travelling was involved in a collision with a van.
One of the men aged in his early 70’s was pronounced dead in the hospital.
The driver of the van was not seriously injured.
The road is currently closed and diversions are in place locally.
