Gardaí have seized drugs and arrested a male following a search in Cork this evening (28.09.10).
Gardaí from the divisional drug unit targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Cork area carried out a planned search of a dwelling in Ashcroft Estate, Blackrock.
During the search they seized cannabis resin and smaller amounts of cocaine and cannabis grass with a total estimated street value of €400,000, subject to analysis. A quantity of mixing agent and drug paraphernalia was also seized.
A male in his late 30’s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Drug Trafficking Act 1996 at the Bridewell Garda Station in Cork.
