The operation being carried out by An Garda Síochána and the Army (see previous release below) has now been completed
Gardai are now in the process of returning traffic back to normal. Normal traffic flow can be expected shortly.

Gardai are advising commuters and motorists planning to to travel to or through Dublin City Centre that road closures are currently in place. York Street, St Stephen's Green West and Mercier Street are closed and are expected to remain closed up to 3.00pm.
Diversions are in place locally and some delays can be expected.
These closures are due to the fact that a number of agencies including An Garda siochana and the Army are currently dealing with a substance which requires specialist handling. The substance is being moved from one location in the area to another location.
