Gardai at Ballyconnell investigating a serious assault that occurred on the 7th September 2010 wish to appeal to the public for their assistance.
A 73 year old man was discovered injured at his home in Nedd, Doogary, Killeshandra, Co. Cavan on the morning of the 7th September 2010 and was brought to Cavan General Hospital. The man has died this evening, the 6/10/10.
As part of the investigation one male was arrested on the 11/09/10 where he was detained under the provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Ballyconnell Garda Station and was later released without charge.
Gardai are particularly interested in hearing from any witnesses that may have been in the vicinity of Nedd, Doogary between 8pm on Monday, the 6 September and 11am on Tuesday, the 7 September.
