Gardai have arrested a man following a raid on a building society in Leixlip, Co. Kildare this morning, the 21st of October 2010.
He is due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court 1 at 10.30am on Friday the 22nd October 2010.
He remains in Garda custody until his court appearance.

Gardai have arrested a man following a raid on a building society in Leixlip, Co. Kildare this morning, the 21st of October 2010.
The incident took place at the EBS building society on Mill Lane, Leixlip, shortly after 9.00 a.m. A lone raider armed with what's believed to be an axe, confronted a female staff member and demanded cash. The man fled the building society empty handed and was arrested by Gardai a short distance away. The staff member was not injured in the incident
The man in his early 40's is detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at Leixlip Garda station.
