Gardai at Rathcoole are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the southbound carriageway of the N7 Naas Road at Rathcoole at approximately 0115 hours.
The driver of a motor car, a 22 year old man, and his passenger, a female aged 25 years were injured when their vehicle was involved in a collision with second motor car. They were taken by ambulance to <_st13a_place _w3a_st="on"><_st13a_placename _w3a_st="on">Tallaght<_st13a_placetype _w3a_st="on">Hospital where the driver was later pronounced dead.<_o3a_p>
The driver the second motor car, a 28 year old man, was also injured. <_o3a_p>
The southbound carriageway of the N7 at Rathcoole is currently closed for a technical examination and diversions are in place.<_o3a_p>
