Gardai at Mullingar are investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the Athboy to Delvin Road (N51) at approx. 3.20pm this afternoon, the 26/10/10.
The 19 year old male driver and sole occupant of one of the vehicles was fatally injured. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar. One of the two occupants of the second vehicle was also taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Mullingar with injuries described as not life threatening.
The road is currently closed pending the completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, local diversions are in place.
