Gardaí at Bishopstown in Cork are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred at Ballinveltig, Curraheen Road shortly after mid-night this morning, the 19th October 2010.
A 20 year old female front seat passenger was fatally injured when the car in which she was travelling went out of control. She was pronounced dead at the scene and her body was removed to Cork University Hospital.
The male driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The roadway that runs from the roundabout at the Cork Greyhound Track at Curraheen towards Maglin, Ballincollig will remain closed to all motorists until forensic and technical examinations of scene are complete.
