Gardaí from Kilrush Garda station have this morning (27th October 2010) carried out a search of open ground adjacent to John Paul Estate in Kilrush.
This was an intelligence lead operation. Local Gardaí from Kilrush were assisted in this search by the Garda Dog Unit. One kilo of Cannabis resin (subject to analysis) with a street value of €12,000 was recovered and 185 grams of heroin (subject to analysis) with a street value of €28,000 was also recovered. Drug paraphernalia (weighing scales etc) was also seized in this operation.
No arrests were made and investigations are on going.
