As the result of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and supply of controlled drugs in the Thomastown area. Gardaí from the Thomastown District and Crime Units searched 2 houses in Mooncoin, South Kilkenny, at around mid-day today, Thursday, the 11th November 2010.
These searches were assisted by the Garda National Drugs Unit.
Elaborate cannabis plant cultivation factories were discovered at each location and cannabis plants at various stages of cultivation were seized.
The seizure, subject to further analysis, has an estimated street value of €300,000.
Two men were arrested (30's and 40's) and are presently detained at Thomastown Garda Station under section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
