A male and a female arrested in relation to this investigation will appear before a sitting of Galway District Court this morning (4/11/2010) at 11am.

As a result of a joint operation between the Garda National Drugs Unit, Galway Gardai, and Revenue's Customs Service a car was stopped and searched on the outskirts of Gort, Co. Galway on the 2nd November 2010 as part of investigations into Organised Crime Gangs in Galway and Limerick.
During the course on the search 7 Kilos of cocaine (subject to analysis) with an estimated street value of €500,000 were seized. Two people were arrested a male 39 yrs and a 24 yr old female. Both are being detained in Galway Garda Station under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended.
