Gardai at Henry St. are investigating the circumstances of a shooting incident which occurred this evening at St John's Square, Limerick.
At approximately 930pm a man aged in his 20s was seriously injured when he sustained gunshot wounds while sitting in a car. He was taken to Mid Western Regional Hospital where condition is described as critical.
In a follow up operation 2 males and 1 female all aged in their 20s were arrested.
They are currently detained at Henry St. and Roxboro Rd. Garda Stations under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007.
Gardai are appealing to anyone in the vicinity St John's Square this evening between 9pm and 10pm to contact them.
