On Wednesday 12 May 2010, Gardaí from the Organised Crime Unit stopped a vehicle on the Naas Road.
A kilo of cocaine was recovered with an estimated street value of €70,000 (subject to analysis). Two men were arrested. Two more men were arrested in a follow up search operation in the Rathcoole area. All four are currently detained in Clondalkin Garda Station.
As part of a follow up operation today, the 13 May 2010, Gardaí from the Organised Crime Unit, assisted by units from Kildare, searched a warehouse in the Clane area of Kildare. Nine kilos of cocaine with a street value of €630,000 (subject to analysis) was seized together with an assault rifle and two rocket launchers (subject to technical examination).
Army Explosive Ordinance Disposal team are currently at the scene.
