Gardai at Roscommon Garda Station are investigating a two vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N61, Athlone to Roscommon Road, at approximately 1.20am on the 8/5/10.
A 26 year old male who was the driver and sole occupant of a car was fatally injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and passenger of the second car were taken to Roscommon County Hospital with injuries described as not life threatening.
The N61 between Knockcroghery and Roscommon is currently closed pending completion of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Diversions are in place.
