Discovery of body at Rathfeigh, Meath on the 13/5/10

Gardai are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body at Gilliamstown, Rathfeigh, Co. Meath on the 13th May 2010.

The body was discovered by a landowner in a drain on his land at about 2.00 p.m on the 13th of May.  The scene was visited by the State Pathologist and an examination was carried out at the scene by the Garda Technical Bureau.

A post mortem examination has now been completed on the body and it has revealed that the man, who is believes to have been in his late teen or early twenties, died as a result of stab wounds.   Further tests (including DNA) and inquires are underway to establish the identity of the dead man and Gardai would appeal for anyone with information to contact them at Laytown Garda Station on 041 9813320.
