Gardai investigating the discovery of a body at Rathfeigh, Co. Meath on the 13th of May 2010, have positively identified the deceased as 17 year old Daniel McAnaspie.
Daniel had been missing since Thursday the 25th of February 2010.
Gardai are renewing their appeal for anyone with information about the disappearance and subsequent discovery Daniel's body to contact them at Blanchardstown Garda Station where the investigation is being led by Superintendent Dave Dowling.

Gardai are investigating the circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body at Gilliamstown, Rathfeigh, Co.Meath on the 13th of May 2010. The body was discovered by a landowner in a drain on his land at about 2.00 p.m on the 13th of May. The scene was visited by the State Pathologist and an examination was carried out at the scene by the Garda Technical Bureau.
A post mortem examination has now been completed on the body and it has revealed that the man, who is believes to have been in his late teen or early twenties, died as a result of stab wounds. Further tests (including DNA) and inquires are underway to establish the identity of the dead man and Gardai would appeal for anyone with information to contact them at Laytown Garda Station on 041 9813320.

Gardai in Blanchardstown are seeking the public's help in tracing the whereabouts of 17 year old Daniel McAnaspie, who is missing since Thursday the 25th February 2010 and his family are concerned for his safety.
Daniel is described as 5 foot 7 inches and slim build. He has short brown hair and was last seen at approx 4.30pm on the 25th February 2010 in Finglas, wearing a navy tracksuit bottoms, navy jacket and white runners.
