Gardai at Mayfield Garda Station, Cork are investigating the circumstances of fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the 21st March 2010 at approx 05.10hrs.
The collision involved 2 vehicles and occurred on the R614 at Ballhooly, Ballyvolane, Mayfield. One male (21yrs) was pronounced dead at the scene, another from the same car (18yrs) was taken to Cork University hospital (CUH) where his injuries are described as not life threatening, the driver of the second car was also taken to CUH with minor injuries
The road remains closed pending a Forensic collision examination
Diversion will be in place until at least midday.
