Gardaí in Kilkenny are appealing for witness to a single vehicle road traffic collision which occurred on the N9, main Carlow to Kilkenny Road at approximately 3.30am this morning.
The incident occurred near the village of Clara (in an area known locally as ‘The Fox and Goose’).
The three occupants of the car (all males in their early 20's) were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, where one passenger is believed to be in a critical condition.
The main N9 road is currently closed for technical examination and traffic diversions are in place.
Gardaí are advising motorists to take extreme care when traveling in the area, as road conditions are treacherous.
