Gardai in Portlaoise are investigating the circumstances of a fatal road traffic collision on the M7 at approx 08.20hrs on the 30th January 2010.
A fatal single vehicle road traffic collision occurred on the southbound lane of the M7 motorway approx 15 miles north of Portlaoise immediately after junction17 (Killenard/Mountmellick exit). It occurred before 08.20hrs on the 30th Jan 2010.
The single male (26yrs) occupant of the car died at the scene. The road has been closed for a Forensic collision examination and diversions are in place. Traffic traveling southbound is being diverted up the slip rd at Junction17 onto the N7. Body of the deceased was taken to Portlaoise Hospital.
