Fatal road traffic collision at Kells, Meath on the 15/1/10

Gardai at Kells, Co. Meath are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on the N52, Delvin to Kells Road, near Fordstown at approximately 6.30pm yesterday evening (15/1/10).

The male driver (in his 40’s) of an articulated lorry was seriously injured and taken to the Midlands Regional Hospital Mullingar where he died as a result of his injuries this morning (16/1/10). The driver was the sole occupant of the lorry.

The scene is being examined by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and the road is currently closed. Diversions are in place.
