Drugs seizure and arrest at Clonmel, Tipperary on the 27/1/10

Gardai have arrested a man aged in his 50s following the search of a vehicle in Clonmel, Co Tipperary.

The vehicle was searched as part of ongoing investigation by the local Detective Unit, assisted by the Divisional Drugs Unit, at approximately 430 pm on 27th January 2010.

In the course of the search Gardai seized 3.5 kilos of suspected Cocaine with an estimated street value of €250,000 (subject to forensic analysis).   A quantity of amphetamine was also seized.

The man is being detained in Clonmel Garda station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
