Fatal road traffic collision in Athlone, Westmeath on the 15/8/10

Gardai in Athlone are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision which occurred at Cornamaddy, Athlone, Co. Westmeath at approximately 7.00pm this evening.

A 22 year old male was pronounced dead at the scene after the motorcycle on which he was the sole occupant collided with a wall.

No-one else was injured in the incident.

The road has been closed and diversions are in place locally.
