As part of an on-going operation targeting organised crime in the Limerick City area , Gardaí have arrested nine men and searched a number of premises this morning (23/4/10) in Limerick City.
The operation commenced early today involving local Garda Units assisted by the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Emergency Response Unit & the Garda National Immigration Bureau.
The arrested men (in their 20’s & 30’s) are all detained in various Limerick City Garda Stations, seven are detained under the provisions of Section 50-Criminal Justice Act 2007, One detained under Section 30 Offences Against The State Act and the remaining man detained under Section 4 Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Searches and investigations are continuing.
