Fatal road traffic collision in Wicklow on the 16/4/10

It occured at approximately 10.15am this morning, the 16th of April 2010.

The collision involved a van and a car. The driver of the car (man in his early 70's) was taken to Naas General Hospital, where he pronounced dead.

The driver of the van (man in his late 30's) was also taken to Naas General Hospital, his injuries are not believed to be  life threatening.

The N81 is currently closed to allow Garda forensic collision investigators carry our an examination of the scene and diversions are in place.
