Gardai in Terenure wish to advise that there is a large outdoor concert at Terenure Carmelite College on today Saturday, the 17th April, 2010 starting at 4.15p.m.
The holding of the concert is to commemorate the founding of the ‘College of Our Blessed Lady of Mount Carmel’ (Terenure Carmelite College) in 1860.
It is estimated that there will be approximately close to 5,000 patrons in attendance.
There is NO parking facility at Terenure College prior to the Concert. Dublin Bus will increase the frequency on those bus routes which ordinarily service Terenure College e.g Bus Routes 15, 15B, 49, 74, 65, 65B and 54A. When the concert is over there will be 15 dedicated double-decker buses that will leave the grounds of Terenure College for concert-patrons who may wish to travel to the city centre.
There will be an announcement via the P.A. system in relation to the location of these buses and the sole destination of these buses will be O’Connell Street.
The Templeogue Road (N81) will remain open at all times, so at to maintain the free flow of vehicular traffic.
The Concert entrance is situated on Fortfield Road (at the intersection of Fortfield Road/Fortfield Drive). It is located at the Terenure College Swimming Pool.
The dropping off of concert patrons in the immediate vicinity of the concert entrance on Fortfield Road is not encouraged. This can take place within the wider radius away from such concert entrance.
Please also note that at St. Mary’s Rugby Football Club, Templeville Road, the semi-final of the AIB League will take place at 2 p.m. today 17th April, 2010 between St. Mary’s RFC and Old Belvedere RFC.
The concurrence of both events – concert and rugby semi-final may give rise to considerable traffic congestion in the area.
