Shooting incident at Aughrim, Wicklow on the 29/9/09

A man was shot once in the upper body by another man using a shotgun.

Gardaí at Arklow are investigating a shooting incident that occurred at Tree Wells, Aughrim, shortly before 4.30pm today, the 29/9/09.

A man in his 50’s was shot once in the upper body by another man using a shotgun.

The injured man has been taken to St. Vincents Hospital.

A man in his 20's was arrested at the scene and is presently detained at Arklow Garda Station under the provisions of section 30 of The Offences Against The State Act.
