A woman was discovered in the house with serious head injuries.
Gardai from Waterford Garda Station are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman in the city overnight.
Gardai were call to a house at Richardsons Meadows, Kilcohan shortly after 2.30 a.m. on the 16th of September. A 30 year old woman was discovered in the house with serious head injuries. The woman was taken by ambulance to Waterford Regional Hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
A man in his 30's was arrested at the scene and is detained at Waterford Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, he can be detained for up to 24 hours. The scene of the incident is preserved for technical examination and the office of the State Pathologist has been notified.
