Gardai responding to a report that a car had been rammed into the building.
Gardai in Mullingar investigating an burglary at a pharmacy in Oliver Plunkett Street in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath at 2.15am this morning – 17th September 2009, have arrested two men aged 21 and 19.
Gardai responding to a report that a car had been rammed into the building arrived to discover 4 masked men attempting to flee the scene.
Gardai pursued the men on foot and arrested two of them close to the scene. A search is underway for the remaining men.
The two men are being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Mullingar Garda Station.
The scene is currently being preserved for technical examination.
Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident and have any information to contact Mullingar Garda station on 044-9384000.
