Abduction by a criminal group at Lusk, Dublin on the 11/9/09

Unlawful detention of a female bank official and her husband.

 

Gardai are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the unlawful detention of a female bank official and her husband.

 

At approximately 9am on the 11/9/09, a female bank official and her husband were abducted by a criminal group at Dun Emer Estate, Lusk, Co. Dublin.

 

The male was taken away in a white van.  The woman later withdrew a sum of money from Bank of Ireland, at Coolock Village.  At approximately 11am the money was left it in a gold colored car at an agreed drop off point on Greenwood Avenue, Coolock.

 

At approximately 2pm the male managed to free himself from the van at Carraigmore Estate, Citywest, South West Dublin.

 

No physical injuries were sustained.  No further details are available at this time.

 

Gardai from Coolock are investigating this incident assisted by Divisional Units and  members from the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation. An Incident room has been set up at Coolock Garda Station.

 

Gardai are appealing to anyone who was in the vicinity of Dun Emer Estate Lusk, Coolock Village, Greenwood Avenue, Coolock, or Carraigmore Estate, Citywest, between 8am and 2pm today, the 11/9/09 and noticed any suspicious activity, to contact them on 6664200, or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
